Granville Parkers at the Nationals did a land office, mining precious metal.
Rita Patterson and Josephine Lee shared the Gold medal in Women's Triples with Marlene Cleutinx, while Shirley Choi won silver in the same event with former member Diane Fulton and Jenny Siu.
Francis Yau, past president, won silver in the Men's Pairs with Kin On Lau. The guys came up just short against the powerhouse team of Kevin Jones and James Covell.
In the Senior Women's Triples Josey picked up another medal, this time silver.

Granville Park continues its run of having at least member playing at the nationals. This year, what with BC hosting the Canadian Championships and getting 2 entries into every event, Granville has done rather well.
Shirley Lai will be playing in the Women's Triples (with Diane Fulton & Jenny Siu) by virtue of their Gold medal. Joining them as qualifying silver medalists will be Josephine Lee and Rita Patterson who picked up silver in the triples with Marlene Cleutinx.
The men will be represented by Francis Yau who will be competing in the pairs with Kin On Au. The qualified with bronze in the pairs, because the pairs silver medalists, Chris Grahame and Stanley Chow also win silver in the fours and will be competing on that event.
Good on ya, Granville!!

Jospehine Lee is fast becoming one of the most decorated women bowlers in BC (which is not easy to do, when you are chasing the records of Dorothy Macey & Alice Duncalf).
Josephine won her 5th BC Mixed Pairs Gold, with partner Hiren Bhartus. They went undefeated on the tricky Richmond greens to claim top spot. As a team they have won 3 provincial and national golds and will be trying to add to that record.
Great stuff, Josey!!

Juanita Tucker gets her second Provincial Gold Medal this year, this one in the Women's Fours.
In Provincial Women's Singles on Vancouver Island Josephine Lee and Rita Patterson battled it out in the final with Josephine winning the Gold and Rita winning the Silver.
Congratulations to all our medal winners this summer.

Peter Cheong has just added his name to the long list of Granville Park members who have won Provincial Gold in a 'major' championship. Playing lead for Paul Choi, the pair came up from the B section and defeated 3-time provincial champion and World Bowls bound Cary Manns to book their trip to Montreal in August for the Canadian Championships. The bowlers had to overcome some very nasty conditions, so bad weather won't put these guys off one bit.
Great stuff, Peter!!

Granville has more provincial honours after this year's BC Senior Triples.
President Juanita Tucker won gold with On Kow Au & Mary Wright in the Provincial Senior Women's Triples, while Josephine Lee was on the team which took silver.
On the men's side Peter Cheong found a silver medal after a finals loss to a team with Francis Yau.
Great start everyone!
